La Bocca del fuoco 2016 – 5 km – Run and walk through the Murano glass factories
See the Murano’s glass masters at work during this authentic run
“La Bocca del Fuoco” has reached its 2nd edition and is ready to show all the runners the passion and tradition that live in Murano island: the glass making. Discover the worldwide famous artistic Murano glass with a wonderful run through five glass factories.
“La Bocca del Fuoco” (The Mouth of Fire) is the name for the opening of the ovens used to melt the silica sand and produce the glass.
The run is organized by the running team A.S.D. VENEZIA RUNNERS ATLETICA MURANO to support and fund their youth athletics sector.
La Bocca del Fuoco 2016 gives all the participants the opportunity to see the glass masters at work in an evocative ambient open during the evening only for the runnners. All the glass factories on course work with the traditional glass making techniques. They are, in order of visit: Effetre Murano; Abate Zanetti; Schiavon Art Team; Cristalleria Nason Moretti; Amadi Fabiano.
Therefore it is clearly not a race, but an unusual run/walk to be lived up to the closing party in the night, tasting traditional fish-based Venetian recipes and mingling with the local people.
